This week the walking was confined to 1300sq ft, just the space inside our home (looking forward to having our Sundays free again to explore this great city, just two more weeks!).
A look at what we see when we roll up the shades...
This spring, we will be able to watch this beauty transform from sticks to leafy goodness. As with our first city walk, you can see trees everywhere!
The streetcar stops a block away. It is a great way to quickly get downtown or to Northwest and soon it will be taking us across the Willamette to all that the East side has to offer!
Kelsey, our chocolate lab, and I take time out in the afternoons to sit at the window and watch the world go by. We see people taking an afternoon stroll, hopefully with their puppy to keep Kelsey happy. We see people hurry along the street on their way to an important meeting. We see people look lost and refer to a map or in most cases their phone to guide them in the right direction. We see people who are enjoying life and those that are not. We see people in cars, on foot, on bike, and even a few on skateboards.
As we watch these people go by, I often wonder what is their story? What brings them to the streets below? Will they come by again tomorrow?
It is a great way to daydream with a cup of tea. Take a few minutes to stop what I am doing and just observe. This is why I love to have my studio table at the main window, I get to work away in my own space while staying connected to the outside world. Perfect harmony for me.
I love these photos, Jackie, thanks so much for sharing a little of your day with us! I am always fascinated by the stories that unfold in people's lives when I see them walk by. I often wonder the same, too.

Maria,
Thank you!
One thing that living in the city has done for me is open my eyes more to the world around me. I have always loved people watching, but enjoy it so much more now. I go for a walk everyday and see new things and chat with new people. It is great to live in a place where I can choose to be out in the world or inside observing, whatever fits my mood (and the weather!)
Take care my friend,
Jackie

Oh, this is such a great view -- there's something about the capture via camera. I love seeing it from you perspective! =)

I love the view out our windows as well, great chance to watch the world go by. Today it is especially lovely as the sun is shining on the west hills!
